Upper Division Theatre Ensemble perform Cinderella

 

Students in the Upper and Middle Divisions have the opportunity to select visual and/or performing arts classes, while Lower Division students in Pre-K through Fifth Grade participate in weekly visual art, music, and theatre classes.

Berkeley graduates have received scholarships and admission to these arts colleges: New York University, Parsons School of Design, Savannah College of Art & Design, Belmont University, Cornell University, Elon University, Emory University, Florida State University, and the University of Florida.

 

Berkeley’s Visual and Performing Arts department is proud of these recent student accomplishments and accolades:

  • Broadway Star of the Future 2019: Best Actress (Winner), Best Supporting Actor (Winner), Best Director (Winner), Best Musical Director (Winner), Best Choreography (Winner)

  • World Strides Heritage Festival, Chicago 2019: Superior ratings, 1st place ranking-Band, 1st place-combined choirs, 2nd place ranking-Cantabella & Berkeley Singers

  • 14th Congressional District and Next Generation High School Art Competition: Best Photograph (Winner), 2nd Place Overall (Winner), Acrylic Painting (Honorable Mention)

  • Scholastic Art & Writing Awards: 13 Gold Key awards, 25 Silver Key awards, 45 Honorable Mentions, 2nd overall in Hillsborough County, high marks in photography

 

Our students have the opportunity to work side by side with Broadway actors and accomplished musicians and artists from around the world. We have hosted masterclasses with the touring cast of Hamilton, Broadway actor Jeffery Binder (Lion King), Jason Burnett (ceramic surface design and image transfer), artists of Print St Pete-letter press printing, Taylor Robenalt (Taylor Robenalt Ceramics), and Matt Schiemann (Matthew Schiemann Pottery).
