The year 2022 was a special one for the Berkeley Academy because it’s when the teachers and staff said a tearful goodbye to the inaugural cohort of graduates. Two of those graduates from the Class of 2022 achieved something far beyond even their wildest dreams.

Neftalí Gomez (right side of photo) and Edgar Murillo (left side of photo), both from Wimauma, FL, didn’t just get into college—they both got full scholarships to two of the best colleges in the country.

Gomez is studying neuroscience at Middlebury College in Vermont, and Murillo is studying computer science at Tufts University in Massachusetts.
