How to Apply

All applicants need to complete an online application, parent/guardian statement, teacher recommendations (where applicable), and participate in an on campus assessment (for our youngest learners) or student interview as part of admissions.

Applicants to PreK need to be 4 by September 1st

Kindergarten applicants need to be 5 by September 1st.

Applicants to PreK and Kindergarten should provide a current teacher recommendation, if available.

Applicants to Grades 1–5 should provide current and previous year report cards and current teacher recommendation(s).

Lower School applicants participate in an on-campus assessment with Bancroft teachers. During the visit, students spend time in classrooms, meet faculty members, and engage in age-appropriate activities.

1. Schedule your campus visit.

• During your visit, you’ll complete a campus tour, a student interview, and a parent/guardian interview. 

2. Complete the student and parent portions of the Online Application via the Standard Online Application (SAO). Please remember that our application is made up of multiple SAO components (Candidate Profile/Bio, Parent Statement, Student Supplement, if we are missing one of those components, your application will be considered incomplete.)

• Submit School Records (current year and two previous years) 

• Submit recommendation from current English teacher

• Submit recommendation from current Math teacher

• Submit character recommendation (from a coach, instructor, additional teacher, or tutor)

• Standardized testing (optional)*

• Supplemental portfolio (optional)**

• Educational testing (if needed)***

* We accept both SSAT and ISEE scores. Students that choose not to submit SSAT or ISEE scores will not be penalized in any way. The SSAT code for Bancroft School is 1480. 

Admissions for the Hope Graham Program, our program for students in grades 2-8 with language-based learning differences.

1. Submit Educational Testing*

2. Virtual parent/guardian meeting (once we receive the required educational testing materials) 

3. Complete Bancroft’s Online Application application

4. Submit School Records (current year and previous year)

5. Submit Teacher Recommendation from current teacher

6. Supplementary Recommendation from someone who works with the student in an academic setting

7. Complete Student Assessment**

* Submit a complete psycho-educational or neuropsychological evaluation of your child, completed within the past 18 months. The testing must include a Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC-V), and a clear statement of your child’s learning profile. All information should be submitted to admission@bancroftschool.org with a brief narrative and any pertinent information you would like to provide.
